i have several rifles i shoot regularly. none have muzzle brakes. one is a ar-15. shots are light so i see no need, a second ar-15, but this one has a null barral. heavy so nose rise at all. third is a new make of a old rifle shoots 45 long colt. not a bull barrel, but very heavy to hold. forth is a long barrel .17hmr rifle. no rise at all from it. round is too light here. others are varied .22 up. no need for any after market on any of them. i have used such before. but in most cases i see no need not even of hunting rifles i have owned. but is i owned 50cal rifle yes would have one. or a way to bolt it down to a very heavy table.

Hi, Good Day! I'm not sure if my question is related to your video. this is about my plans CZ 457 .22 WMR to .17 HMR aside barrel's swapping is there any internal requirement to run .17 HMR? Thank you.

  • @crstewart90

Shooting competition level .22LR rifles, I can without a doubt say that a wood stocked gun will not shoot with one in a metal chassis. After several of our shooting group members owning CZ 457s on both sides of the discussion, wood guns simply will not compete with a chassis gun.

Weatherby and Remington have always put a forearm pressure point in their thin barreled rifles… both companies have been noted for being accurate rifles. I recently purchased a used beautiful Browning Mauser in 3006 made in 1969. It had a small degree of rust from salt wood on the action flats. So I removed the rust, sprayed a rust preventive paint on the action flats and glass bedded the action and free floated the 3 step down barrel. It shot two plus inch groups with every load I tried, 10 different commercial loads and then hand loads for it….. Out of desperation I put a pressure pad about an inch and a half from the fore end tip……. Surprise it now shots Barnes TTSX 180 grain bullets into 1/2 an inch groups…… who knew!

Every friend I know that went to Vietnam before 1969 got to fire an M14. It was a long range battle rifle & the reason being the d eyes could tell who were good shots and who were very good shots and might want to join a sniper team. Every friend to a man said they love the M14 for its accuracy not so much the way😮. I didn't get in country untill 1970. I subscribe and love your UA-cam channel it's so very very informative. Mac.😂 17:28 I bought an M1A one in 1985 and pleasantly surprised to notice that the parts were made by TRW how Sweet it is.

I built a perfect small shooting bench that is 3 legged where the legs are out about 45 degrees and the bottom where they bite into the ground totally keep the top area of the bench centered within the ground surface area. No vibration at all, and made sure chair does not connect to it. The 3 legs makes all feet touch ground properly. I made it over 20 years ago and will make a new one. The 50 lbs was just fine for me then but I want an aluminum one down to 25 lbs of the same exact size.

From what I have researched the 45 Colt wasnt offered in the Winchester 73 due to the rim being too small for the extractors to reliably eject spent rounds, as well.

Thanks for the very informative and detailed video. I think like most presses, you learn the character of the press and deal with it. But I see that you have to actually bend over to cycle this press on the down stroke, which would seem to put a lot of stress on one's back. I am not comfortable sitting in a chair below the press level either. Is there any different gearing that can be modified to shorten this down stroke?

I purchased this model but it got some what damaged when it shipped the barrel/muzzle poked out the box im not sure if they all come wobbly or it’s because it popped out the box. I have to let you know the wings of a buckhorn sight have a purpose. They are there as a frame of reference to help you adjust your sight picture, on the fly, for windage, elevation, and leading a moving target. With practice, you will know where your bullet hits when you move the top of the front sight to align with the corners of the wings on either side.
